Pearl and Nikhil Chinapa

Our daughter transitioned from the Toddler to Primary program and spent one year in the very capable hands of her teacher, Rachel. This was in the middle of the pandemic when there was no online education on offer from the school and we were sent activity boxes to home-school our children. As our daughter’s class teacher, Rachel held our hand throughout this process. She was always approachable and no question was too much or too time consuming while explaining everything meticulously. Rachel exuded kindness and was extremely patient in all her explanations – from phonics to social and emotional development – considering the times we were in. Towards the tail-end, when schools did reopen, it was no surprise that our daughter took to Rachel right off the bat. Rachel has this innate ability to read a child and interact with them in a way that makes them instantly comfortable. She was never patronizing. The concern she has for the children under her care, is what any parent would hope to find in a teacher. My husband and I will forever be grateful for Rachel and her gentle approach to teaching. She balances this with the fun environment she creates for these children, whether in class or at a school concert. She has many talents and through this perfect mix she manages to conjure up, enables the most stable and enriching environment for any child.
